Former Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Maryan Maruschak gave his assessment of the general state of Ukrainian football.
- I agree with those who say that its level in Ukraine has dropped, but there is more intrigue in the championship. The lower level is the result of the fact that legionnaires have, for obvious reasons, left our country in large numbers, so the skill level of players is a bit different from what it used to be. But the teams have levelled up in their strengths, so the intrigue lasted almost until the end of the season.
Plus, the situation at the bottom of the standings is tense; some matches are interesting to watch: who is relegated, who qualifies for the transitional games. In short, due to the fact that the teams are leveled off, there is interest in how they fight for the championship, for places in the European competitions and for survival. It is really very interesting," the expert said.
