Dnipro-1 Sports Club issued a statement after the 0-3 match against Shakhtar Donetsk, which was published on the club's official website:
Sports club Dnipro-1 apologises for the unfortunate incident that took place at the end of the match against FC Shakhtar on 28.05.2023. Unfortunately, thousands of viewers witnessed the emotions getting out of control.
We understand and stand by our position that such actions have no place in football and sports in general. The club's management and coaching staff have already had a conversation with the players about the inadmissibility of such actions. Disciplinary measures will be taken. Whatever the provocations, everyone on the football field must control their emotions. We hope that the football justice authorities of Ukraine will give a proper assessment of the actions and provocations of all participants in the clash.
SC Dnipro-1, like the rest of the Ukrainian clubs, had an extremely difficult season under martial law. The team took to the field every time with great gratitude to our military for the opportunity to do so and tried to represent Ukraine in the international arena with dignity. We believe that we succeeded, as evidenced by the support we felt and continue to feel in Ukraine and many European countries. In the 2023/2024 season, our club will also have the honour of representing the country in European competitions. We promise to make every effort to do it again at a high level. And the incident at the Lviv Arena will remain in our memories only as an unfortunate misunderstanding from which we will draw the appropriate conclusions.
Glory to Ukraine!
