As previously reported, Spanish side Sevilla beat Italian side Roma 1-1 (4-1 on penalties) in the Europa League final yesterday to win the tournament for the 2022/23 season.
This is Sevilla's seventh UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup triumph, the all-time record. The nearest pursuers, Inter Italy, Juventus and Atlético Espanyol, are sitting on three titles each.
It should also be noted that Sevilla have never lost a UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup final. Middlesbrough (2006), Espanyol (2007), Benfica (2014), Dnipro (2015), Liverpool (2016), Inter (2020) and, finally, Roma (2023).
