The game at the Allianz Riviera stadium between Nice and Lyon was an exciting one. Both teams were keen to win, but Nice took a 3-1 lead at half-time. However, Lyon fought back in the second half but unfortunately couldn't make much difference to the score and the game ended 3-1 in favour of Nice. Just 5 minutes into the game, Nice took the lead thanks to a goal from J. Boateng. Later, they could consolidate their advantage thanks to goals from Gaborda and Moffi on 28 and 33 minutes respectively. But Lyon kept their hopes alive by cutting the lead back quickly, thanks to a goal from Geoffinho just before the break. Both teams made numerous substitutions in the second half, trying to find a way to equalise or increase their lead. Nice replaced A. Mendy with B. Buanani, while J. Boateng was replaced by T. Mendes from Lyon.
In the 49th minute Lyon received a yellow card, which was picked up by C. Luceba, which added to the pressure on the visiting team. As the second half progressed, Nice made more significant changes to their squad, replacing H. Boudaoui with R. Belahian and then replacing M. Bard with A. Amraoui. Lyon struggled to find any rhythm to their game and as the match drew to a close they replaced C. Tolisso with J. Lepenant and then added R. Cherki and A. Sarra. With a few minutes remaining in the game, Nice made two more substitutions, producing A. Beck-Beck and T. Trinker, and Lyon's last substitution was S. Diop, who replaced A. Dacourt. In the end, despite Lyon's attempts to come back, Nice held on and took all three points, securing a much-needed victory in Ligue 1. The match was interesting and full of great moments and fans of both teams will be looking forward to the next game.
