The president of Desna Chernihiv, Volodymyr Levin, spoke about the club's future.
"The selection of players is the most difficult process, especially if they are available only during the transfer window. It is necessary to carry out a thorough analysis and selection of players who meet Desna's requirements and can strengthen its squad. We are currently analysing such players.
However, the transfer ban may limit the ability to bring in new players, making it difficult to assemble a complete team. This is a problem that needs to be resolved so that the team can complete its squad to the best of its ability.
As for the possibility of the new team, Desna, starting the season in the second league, this could be a good start, allowing the team to build its squad, develop players and succeed in the lower division. In the future, the team may seek to return to the top flight and merge the clubs to preserve historical traditions and attract fan support.
Desna's task is to regain Chernihiv's position on the Ukrainian football scene and achieve success at the national and international levels. We aim to create a strong team that will play with tenacity, passion and commitment for our fans.
Chernihiv has a rich history in football and we are committed to restoring its glory and drawing attention to this wonderful city. We intend to address the systemic issues that are currently hindering us and work diligently to develop the team to achieve our goal in the 2024/25 season.
We thank our fans for their support and promise to do our best to put Desna back on the football map of Ukraine," Levin said.
