The defender of the English Everton and Ukraine national team Vitaliy Mykolenko in his interview to the UAF press office shared his impressions of the current training camp of the national team, which kicked off yesterday in Bremen.
Vitaly Mikolenko- Your first impressions of the national team's training camp?
- Impressions are positive, as always. Every moment every minute I enjoy being in the Ukraine national team. A new coach, new rules, new tactics. We try to understand it all from the first minute.
- Your Everton have kept their place in the APL. Does it affect the mood with which you arrived at the Ukrainian team?
- The national team is the national team, and the club is the club. It does not matter what successes or failures are in the club. Let me repeat: I come here and enjoy every moment.
- What can you say about the beginning of your work under the new head coach of the Ukraine national football team - Serhiy Rebrov?
- I trained with Serhii Stanislavovych at Dynamo for a while. It is a pleasure to work under his guidance again. I am happy we have such a coaching staff, who understands how we should play and tells us about it.
- Ahead, the national team of Ukraine will have three matches, and the first one is with the national team of Germany itself...
- First of all, I would like to thank the national team of Germany for inviting us to their 1000th match in the history. It's a friendly game, but this is the first game at this training camp, and it is very important to do what the coaching staff will tell us.
- How does the news of new and new tragedies, which the fascist scum bring to our land, affect the mood of the players?
- I have never heard the air-raid alarm. And when I talk to the guys about it, I always feel uncomfortable. And I can't even imagine how hard it is. And it's difficult for the guys in a special way: they are safe here, but they communicate with their family, their relatives who are there at that moment. I have family in Ukraine myself, and I know how hard it is.
- But we are now on our sporting front: the team represents Ukraine, and it is important to live and continue to work in spite of the war.
- Yes, the most important thing is to represent your country. As the head coach said, we need to show spirit, passion in every match, because this is the national team of Ukraine. All the guys are well aware that this is the national team. Nobody comes here without passion.
