Andriy Yarmolenko, captain of the Ukrainian national team, spoke about preparations for the June matches under Serhiy Rebrov.
On 10 June, the Ukrainian national team held its third training session in Bremen in preparation for a friendly match with Germany. The main work was devoted to the development of tactical elements of the game model, which the blue-and-yellow coach Serhii Rebrov is preparing for the match.
"The mood in the team is good, we try to encourage each other, but when you look at what is happening in your country, what the terrorists are doing in the Kherson region, the good mood quickly disappears. But I am sure that we will win, thanks to our soldiers, everything will be fine.
We don't have as much time to prepare as we would like. That's why we have very intense days, theory twice a day. Yesterday we had two training sessions, today we had one, but it was normal, I can say. The coach tries to explain his vision of the game - in attack and defence. The guys try to listen to him and do what Serhiy Stanislavovych asks.
Rebrov is an experienced coach, he has worked in many championships. I see that he chooses his tactics based on the players. There are small innovations, but, in principle, the style of play that was at Al Ain or Dynamo Kyiv when we worked together - I can't say that anything has changed. Serhiy Stanislavovych likes intelligent football, not just defending or kicking the ball forward, he likes to have a balance between attack and defence. It is interesting to listen to him, I see that the guys are imbued with his tactical ideas. The most important thing is that we do on the football pitch what he asks of us in training and theory sessions. Then, I am sure, there will be a positive result.
The German national team has always been and remains one of the best in the world. It is interesting to test myself at this level. I am grateful to the Germans for the invitation, and may the strongest man win. But the fact that this game is a friendly, the 1000th in history for them, will mean nothing, because we know that millions of our fans will support us at home. We want to show a good game for people to enjoy, a little bit of positive in these difficult times," said Andriy Yarmolenko.
It will be recalled that the Ukrainian national team will play the match against Germany on 12 June in Bremen at the Weserstadion. It will be a charity friendly match, which will be the 1000th in the history of the Bundestim (starting at 19.00 Kyiv time).
