Nazariy Rusyn (photo: uaf.ua)- Congratulations on your debut call-up to the Ukrainian national team. I'm curious to hear what circumstances you found this good news in?
- Thank you for the congratulations. I was resting at home and found out about the call-up from the Internet. Later I contacted the national team administrators.
- Can you describe your emotions?
- I was very happy and proud.
- Which of your family members congratulated you first?
- My wife was the first to congratulate me, because she was next to me at that moment.
- Did your football father Roman Mykhailiv (director of the Lviv Children's and Youth Sports School, where Rusyn is a pupil - ed.) congratulate you on your debut call-up to the national team?
- Yes, he did. It was very nice.
- Does the debut call-up to the national team give you extra motivation when the season is coming to an end and you are already on holiday?
- Of course, it adds motivation. Because you realise that you can achieve more through hard work.
- This is the first time the Ukrainian national team has gathered under Rebrov's leadership. His requirements are not new to you, because you are familiar with the model of the game that Serhii Stanislavovych built. How did the team take the requirements of the new coaching staff?
- Everyone in the team is very focused. Everyone listens and we absorb the information given by Stanislavovych as quickly as possible.
- How do you feel in the team?
- I feel good in the team. Mykolenko helps me to settle in, for which I am grateful to him.
- The sparring match with the Germans is preparatory to the qualifying matches with Malta and North Macedonia. Will playing against a top opponent benefit us before the official matches?
- It's always a pleasure to play a team like Germany. Through this game we will prepare for the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
