Liverpool footballer Cody Gakpo commented on how he managed to adapt to the position of a centre forward in the Merseyside side.

When he was at PSV as a consultant, he saw me play and said: "You have to be a striker or a false nine". I didn't want to believe it at the time. And then when Roger Schmidt told me the same thing when he was coaching PSV, I was even more stubborn. I liked playing on the left wing.
But at the last World Cup, I was already playing in the centre and I've been playing in that position for Liverpool for the last six months. I enjoyed it. Now I want to grow in this position at the club and in the national team.
