North Macedonia defender Jovan Manev has told us what he thinks about the upcoming match against Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifying round, which will take place next Friday, June 16, in Skopje.
"We have already reached the last stage of preparation for the match against Ukraine. It would be strange not to expect a very tough game for us in this encounter. But we are optimistic; we will do everything possible to beat the Ukrainians. We are aimed at this result, but it will not be easy to achieve.
We have great respect for the opponent. The Ukraine national team is talented and strong. It has confirmed this in a friendly against Germany.
Yes, we are the outsiders in the upcoming match, but it only gives an additional impetus to our team. Of course, we have great respect for the more experienced opponents, but the most important thing is to fulfil the coaching staff's tasks. If we do that on the field, I am convinced that we will achieve a positive result," said Manev.
