The tiebreaker matches for the right to play in the Ukrainian Premier League, which appeared in the 2022/23 season, will remain in the regulations of the competition next season, Sport.ua reports.
According to the source, the principle of exchange of teams between the two divisions will be fully preserved.
So, the two worst teams in the UPL (15th and 16th place) will automatically lose their place in the Premier League, and they will be replaced by the two best teams in the First League. The teams who finish in 13th and 14th places in the UPL will play in the tiebreaker matches against the fourth and third teams in the first league respectively.
So far, those decisions have been agreed verbally, and they must be approved at the PFL Conference and the General Meeting of the UPL clubs, which will be held on June 21 and 23 respectively.
