Northern Macedonia midfielder Enis Bardi believes his side dominated the game against Ukraine in the European Championship 2024 qualifier. However, the hosts were hampered by psychological problems.
"Each of us must change our mentality. We lack attention and concentration. Just one moment when we get lost on the pitch and then we let it all come crashing down. I just wish each of us a lot of reflection on ourselves after this match and first of all find a way to fix and correct our personal mistakes. Let each of us find out why this is the case and how to fix it. There has to be self-criticism.
It only has to do with mentality. We kept the great football Ukraine in the bottle for an hour. For 60 minutes on the pitch we looked like Barcelona against an amateur club. And then there was a problem. We conceded one goal and then there was an incredible slump. A psychological breakdown. We have to sit down and talk openly with each other," said Bardy.
