The day after the Euro 2024 qualifying match against Northern Macedonia (3: 2), the Ukrainian national team traditionally started in two groups. The players who took part in the match in the starting line-up, as well as Vanat and Konoplya, who entered the game after the break, worked out in the gym from 11am, while the rest of the players trained on the pitch of FK Macedonia.
The training session on the pitch started with two laps of jogging, after which the players practised passing in squares. The main objective of this training session was to maintain the game tone of the players who have not yet taken part in the national team's June matches or have spent little playing time on the field. The main part of the session was spent in a series of games with tactical tasks.
Meanwhile, in the fitness room of the Aleksandar Palace hotel, 13 players performed a set of muscle recovery exercises, after which they worked with dumbbells and a barbell under the close supervision of physical training coach Javier Luruña Lobo. The players performed the strength work with obvious pleasure and knowledge of the matter: the functional development of a specific muscle group is now an integral element of a player's training.
In the afternoon, the national team headed to the airport for a flight to Bratislava. From the capital of Slovakia, the Blue and Yellows will travel another 60 km to Trnava, where they will stay at the Holiday Inn. It is in this city, we will remind, that on Monday, June 19, the match of the Euro-2024 qualifying cycle Ukraine - Malta will take place.
Tomorrow, the Ukrainian national team will hold a pre-match training session in Trnava at the Anton Malatynskyi Stadium. Half an hour before the start of the session, a press conference will be held between the national team's head coach Serhii Rebrov and one of the Blue and Yellows players.
