The most disgusting speech was given by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin's adviser on national associations, Josef Clement, who did not hesitate to attend the conference of the Russian Football Union in Moscow.
"We are now facing a new difficult challenge, but we at UEFA believe that football can overcome it. We all believe that we will be able to meet not only at the level of officials' conferences, but also at the level of national team and club competitions. We believe that the Russian team will be allowed to meet their rivals at the international level in a fair fight, remaining friends outside of the competition.
Despite the difficult situation, we have not interrupted our cooperation with the Russian Federation. UEFA fulfils all its obligations to the RFU, as well as to other national associations, including financial support. We are united by football, and we will always make decisions in favour of football. We want to build bridges between countries and not destroy them. In this way, we want to show how to cope with challenges," said Kliment.
