Former Ukraine national team player Ivan Getsko commented on the Blue and Yellows' victories over Northern Macedonia and Malta.
- Two wins are good, but who did we play? Malta is one of the outsiders in European football, and North Macedonia showed their level in England, losing 0-7. I am unpleasantly surprised by the low level of our team, especially in the match against Malta. Firstly, we hardly played offensively. Secondly, we lost the ball due to childish mistakes. Thirdly, three players completely dropped out of the game: Yarmolenko, Malinowski and Matvienko (he managed to lose the ball five times in three minutes). It's a blessing that we managed to win with such a performance.
Rebrov needs to bring his star players down to earth. I think he will bring them back to their senses quickly. After all, our squad is strong. I advise Rebrov not to radically change the game pattern. We do not know how to act as number one in matches with the giants, and playing as number two is our team's trump card. This is the tactic we should use in the match against Italy. I am sure that the Ukrainians are capable of winning and making a big sensation," the expert is confident.
