The former head coach of Kyiv Dynamo and the Ukraine national football team Yozhef Sabo commented on the victory of the Ukraine national youth team over Romania (1-0) in the yesterday's match of the 2nd round of the Euro 2023 group stage (U-21) and its reaching the quarterfinal of the tournament.
"Not an easy game, the more pleasing thing is that the advantage was on the side of our national team, which outplayed the opponent in terms of chances created and won. I'd like to mention our will to show team football, but this time there were some unforced errors in passes.
The national team had a zero chance in the second game, so the defensive line does its job well as well. I would like to wish for better realization of goals, still it is a serious tournament and other rivals may not allow to create such an amount of chances.
I had no doubt that Spain will defeat Croatia to make it out of the group. Now the fate of the first place will be decided in the last round. The Spaniards are a technically sound team; they are good with the ball; they are aggressive in defense. In general, the game is designed for high-speed attacks - a requirement of modern football.
The game in the last round will be a matter of principle, but I want to congratulate Ruslan Rotan and his coaching staff for solving the intermediate problem and wish them good luck in the next games", said Sabo.
