Shakhtar Donetsk have submitted an official request to Belgrade-based Crvena Zvezda to acquire their defender Irakli Azarov for €3m, Mozzart Sport reports.
Irakli AzarovThe 21-year-old is one of the leaders of the current Georgian youth national team that is successfully competing at U-21 Euro 2023: the team won the group against Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium. Currently, Azarov has one assist on this tournament.
It should be added that Crvena Zvezda are pondering an offer from Shakhtar, and they have not yet given their answer. However, it is reported that Azarov was sold to his current club for just EUR 200,000 (a transfer from Batumi Dinamo).
