"It is with great sadness that I announce that the time has come for me to hang up my boots. I will cherish every day from my first days at Barcelona, Arsenal, Barca again, Chelsea, Monaco and Como. It was a journey I will never forget.

Thanks to everyone who helped me: teammates, coaches, presidents, owners, fans and my agent. Thank you to my entire family: from my parents and sister to my wife and children. I appreciate your advice and mentoring. Also, a special thanks to my opponents who have always made me stronger," The Telegraph quoted Fabregas as saying.
