"Shakhtar Donetsk have not exercised their option to buy 26-year-old left-winger Bohdan Mykhailchenko, who has been on loan at Anderlecht for the 2022/23 season.
Bogdan MykhailichenkoIf a couple of months ago Mykhailchenko's buyout seemed a done deal, Shakhtar eventually deemed the amount required for its implementation to be excessive and rejected such a possibility.
Mikhailichenko is expected to return to training next week with Anderlecht, who would not mind selling the Ukrainian.
It is expected that Shakhtar could still offer their terms for Mikhailichenko's buyout, but for a lesser amount than previously agreed.
According to media reports, the Pitmen had the option to buy Mikhailichenko from Anderlecht for €2.5m.
