The immediate future of Kyiv Dynamo midfielder Jerson Rodriguez remains unclear.
Gerson Rodriguez. Photo by Yu.The 28-year-old from Luxembourg spent last season on loan at Al-Wahda in Saudi Arabia, and recently it was reported that Rodriguez now wants Turkish Kocaelispor.
But talks between the player and that club have been extremely difficult and in the end the sides have come to nothing. According to the updates of the FIFA rule for Ukrainian internationals, although they have the right to suspend their contract with their club again, but only if they notify their club by 1 July 2023.
That deadline has passed, and now Kocaelispor (as well as any other club) will not be able to acquire Rodriguez for free. The club is not ready to splurge for the rent of the Luxembourgian, so the transfer of the Dynamo player to Kocaelispor has failed, the Turkish media reports.
It should be added that Rodriguez is linked with Dinamo on a contract to last until the summer of 2024.
