In January 2017 there were reports that Bazilevich had an incurable illness - Parkinson's disease, which Oleg Petrovich has been struggling with for many years. This information was confirmed by Bazilevich's doctor, Aleksey Pelepeychenko. On 16 October 2018, Oleg Petrovich passed away in Kiev. He was buried on 18 October in the Central Alley of Baikove cemetery in Kiev.
