We created a few chances at the beginning of the match: because of attacks from the right wing, runs, good crosses when we were not in front of the goal. That is, there were opportunities when we could have scored the first goal ourselves. But after that there were problems with organisation and we conceded.
As I told the players before, this is a meeting with the team that will give us a lot of information about what aspects to improve, what moments are good and what we need to strengthen. Because we saw all of that. This match showed what exactly we need to improve together to ensure that the team plays well and realises all the chances we create.
When we played these three control games, the national team players only came back to us - in groups every few days. I think that it is not ideal to start the training camp with an ever-increasing small group. After all, firstly, you have to explain your ideas at training sessions again, and secondly, they need to get into the rhythm of the team. That's why in almost all three matches there were different players, different line-ups, different moments to work on," van Leeuwen said after the match against Ajax.
