Hungarian Ferencvaros have sacked their head coach, Russian Stanislav Cherchesov.

The resignation of the 59-year-old specialist was announced immediately after yesterday's Champions League qualifying round 1 match against Faroese Klaksvik, which ended in an embarrassing 0:3 defeat for the Hungarian champions.

In the first leg, the rivals were held to a nil draw, so Ferencvaros are already out of the Champions League and the European Cups for the 2023/24 season at such an early stage.
