Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi commented on their 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the first leg of the Leagues Cup group stage.

"We wanted to start the tournament with a win to please the fans who came to the stadium. It was very important for us. I had one last chance to score and luckily I took it.
