Fans of the North Macedonian club Shkupi, considered a team of the country's Muslim minority, have revolted against the Skopje authorities over plans to provide financial aid to another capital club, Vardar, local media reported.
"We strongly condemn the decision to provide financial aid to the weakest team in Skopje. "Shkupi represents the capital in Europe and pays serious money to play at the Todor Proeski Stadium, but receives nothing in return. We demand a review of the decision, and if it comes into force, be prepared to face the consequences," the fans said in a statement, which was also supported by the club's management.
