Leonid Buriak, former coach of Dynamo Kyiv and the Ukrainian national team, shared his expectations for the new Ukrainian championship, which starts today.
Leonid Buriak- There are two teams competing for the championship - Dynamo and Shakhtar. These clubs are superior to other teams in terms of player selection. And if we talk about the chances of both teams, Dynamo is the favourite in the championship race. The Kyiv team is well-equipped and their game has improved. In addition, during the off-season, Andriy Yarmolenko joined the team, who will lead all his partners. And let's not forget that Kyiv are motivated to take revenge for last season's failure.
Zorya, Dnipro-1 and Vorskla will compete for places in the European Cups. The main thing is that the 33rd championship not only starts but also ends. After all, our country is at war, and we need to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances. And the fact that the championship is starting is already a victory for Ukrainian football and our soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Expres quoted Buriak as saying.
