Head coach of Dnipro-1 Oleksandr Kucher told us what he expects from the return leg against Greek side Panathinaikos in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. It will be recalled that the first meeting between the rivals ended in a 1-3 defeat for Dnipro.
"Of course, Panathinaikos is an experienced team with many skilled players - the same Djuricic, Jedvar, Bernard, Sporar. They have a very powerful attack that both plays football and knows how to play football. What happened to us in the first match was, of course, because we lacked the experience that Panathinaikos had.
This is only our second year playing in European competitions, and the Champions League qualification is our debut. And somewhere we were a little scared, maybe we were nervous. We failed in the first half and didn't play the football we had agreed to play.
Of course, in the return leg, we have to come out aggressive and with a lot of desire to get a positive result. We have to show everyone that we are Ukrainians who know our goal and are going for it," Kucher said at the pre-match press conference.
