The life of one of the best playmakers in the modern history of Dynamo Kyiv ended prematurely on 1 August 2014.

Eight-time champion of Ukraine, seven-time Cup winner and three-time winner of the Ukrainian Super Cup, semi-finalist of the 1998/99 Champions League... In 11 seasons in Kyiv, Valentyn Belkevych played 317 matches, scored 70 goals for Dynamo and earned the sincere admiration and respect of the White and Blues fans.

A master of standards and a genius of passing, a gifted and wise footballer, captain and one of the leaders of the outstanding Dynamo team at the turn of the century, Belkevych left a bright mark on Ukrainian football not only through his trophy achievements, but also through his virtuoso, filigree play, team dedication and extraordinary talent.

After completing his playing career, Valentyn Mykolayovych worked fruitfully as a coach, raising champions from his own players in the Dynamo youth and junior teams.

He will remain in the hearts of millions of fans as a wonderful person, a leader on and off the pitch, a true professional and a role model. The memory of Valentyn Belkevych continues to live on in the big Dynamo family...
