Santos striker Marcos Leonardo may join Roma

Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo has become a priority target for Roma in the transfer market.

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on his Twitter page, the Romans have intensified negotiations with Leonardo's entourage and are serious about signing him after Lazio recently withdrew from the race for the 20-year-old. The forward has already agreed to join Roma.

"Santos want to find a replacement before letting Leonardo go, but time is not on their side as the transfer window in Brazil closes on 2 August.
