English club West Ham are interested in 23-year-old Ukrainian defender Maksym Taloverov.
Scouts of the London team attended all matches of the Ukraine U-21 national team at Euro-2023. The main target is Slavia defender Taloverov. "Hammers" are watching the Czech market very closely. There are two Czechs in the squad from London - Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Tsoufal. Both defence players moved from Slavia, with whom West Ham have good business relations.
West Ham coach David Moyes likes the ability to fight forcefully, athleticism and good anthropometry of the Ukrainian player. Maksym is on the list of 2-3 candidates to strengthen the position of the Hammers' centre-back.
But now all four vacancies for the position are taken. In July, the club extended for a season the contract with Italian 35-year-old veteran Angelo Ogbonnaya, who will play the role of the fourth defender in the season 2023/24. Taloverov's only option is a season-long rental transfer for the sake of game practice.
Taloverov's contract belongs to Slavia Prague. He played the first part of the season on loan for Slovan Liberec, and after the New Year he moved on loan to LASK in Austria. His contract with Slavia runs until the summer of 2026.
