According to the Dutch media, Ajax's Supervisory Board has not yet given permission to the club's sporting director to complete the transfer of Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.
A number of Amsterdam managers believe that it is immoral to do business with Russian clubs during the war against Ukraine, and that Ajax should set an example of proper behaviour.
So far, no final decision has been made one way or the other.
Earlier, former Ukrainian national team player Yevhen Levchenko, who worked in the Netherlands for a long time, advised Ajax not to get involved with Russian clubs.
