Dnipro-1 midfielder Ruslan Babenko talks about the Dnipro team's European Cup run.
- Everyone understands that Slavia is a strong and pressing team. In recent years, they have been playing in European competitions and have been successful. So, these will be very difficult and very important matches for us. We really want to secure ourselves, let's say, a European Cup autumn.
- Did you follow the draws for the two tournaments?
- Yes, yes, we know who our opponents might be. But it doesn't mean anything yet, because all our thoughts are now about Slavia. We've already forgotten about Polissia, and we're not thinking about who will be drawn next: "Zorya, Lech or Spartak Trnava.
- What would you say about the start of the season in general? Is there something similar to last year - again, the team has been significantly renewed, and mutual understanding comes through matches?
- Yes, that's exactly right. I hope that with each game we will add to our understanding of each other. This stage can only be passed through matches. We will add and hope that we can compete, like last season, for the highest places.
- In this sense, perhaps a tough calendar in August will be an advantage?
- I think so. For me personally, playing every three days is a thrill! All thoughts are about games, about football and about making it last as long as possible.
