In the 40th minute, Jaka Gorenc Stankovic took advantage of a mistake in the PSV defence to score an important goal for the visitors. This goal gave Sturm Graz hope before the break. At the start of the second half, Sturm Graz made their first substitution in an attempt to turn the tide of the match.
In the 46th minute, David Schnegg came on in place of Atila Dante. PSV did not rest on their laurels and also made a substitution, replacing Ibrahim Saibari with Ismael Babadi in the 65th minute. The substitution had an immediate impact on PSV's play as they continued to dominate the scoreline.
