Former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy is going to sue the Citizens for a "generous" sum of money, The Guardian reports.
According to a source, Mendy's contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June, so the 29-year-old Frenchman joined Lorient as a free agent.
At the same time, Mendy is trying to solve his financial problems. HM Revenue and Customs is demanding that Benjamin be declared bankrupt for debts of almost £800,000.
Mandy's claims against City are that Benjamin has not received a salary since September 2021. The defence lawyer estimates his losses at £9-10 million. At the moment, Mendy is also trying to sell his house in Cheshire for £5 million to pay for lawyers' services.
As a reminder, since the summer of 2021, Benjamin Mendy has been in prison on rape charges. This summer, the footballer was acquitted.
