This Thursday the first matches of the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference League are taking place. Greek Aris and Dynamo Kyiv met in one of them. The match took place in Thessaloniki at the Kleanthis Vikelidis stadium.

"Aris started the match in a somewhat wait-and-see manner, but Dynamo didn't take advantage of it. As a result, the hosts quickly gained confidence and began to trouble the Bilo-Syni defence time after time. Already on the 12th minute of the match two dangerous shots were made on Dynamo's goal. Buschan coped with the first of them, and in the second case the ball flew close to the bar. And in the middle of the half Aris openly forgave the guests: Karlsson finished his team's attack with a shot from 8 metres, but managed to direct the ball into Dubinchak's back.
Dynamo had nothing in attack. During the whole first half we can only note Yarmolenko's shot from outside the penalty area, after which there was a ricochet. And, firstly, the ball, as it seemed from the picture, did not fly into the goal, and, secondly, the Aris goalkeeper coped with the situation. As a result, the teams went into the break with zeros on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the game didn't change much. Except for the fact that there was more confusion and rule violations. "Dinamo improved their ball control, but it did not lead to changes in the quality of Lucescu's team's attacking play. On the 65th minute Aris was very close to opening the scoring, but Buschan saved Dinamo by deflecting the ball after Darida's shot from the goalkeeper's line.
However, four minutes later, the hosts scored a goal. On a corner kick, the referee detected a hand play from Sirota in the Dinamo penalty area and awarded a penalty, which was converted by Palma - 1:0.
Having conceded a goal, Dynamo, of course, stepped up in attack. And already on the 75th minute of the match they created a goal moment: in the final phase of the combination in the central zone Benito made a cross to Shaparenko, who shot from 14 metres, and the ball flew near the goal post of Aris. And in the 88th minute Yarmolenko had a chance - he shot hard from the right side of the Greek team's penalty area, directing the ball under the crossbar, but Julian saved Aris. Lucescu's men were unable to achieve more on the night. As a result, the match ended with a minimal victory for the hosts.
We would like to add that the return match between Aris and Dynamo will take place a week later, on 17 August, in Bucharest, where Kyiv will play their home matches this European Cup season.
