It was a tactical change that added creativity to the midfield and strengthened the attack. The substitution paid off as Manchester City continued to dictate play and possession. The first half ended with Manchester City holding a two goal lead thanks to another Erling Haaland strike in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, Burnley's hopes of a comeback were dashed in the final minutes of the game. Ali Zaroori received a red card in the 90th minute, leaving the home side in the minority. In addition, Burnley made another substitution in stoppage time, with Kyle Walker replacing James McAtee. The match ended with a convincing 3-0 away win for Manchester City. This victory further consolidated their position in the Premier League standings and confirmed their title chances.
