This trophy was Cristiano Ronaldo's first with his new team. The Portuguese scored a double in this game, but the award for the best player of the match was given not to him, but to Al-Hilal midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Ronaldo obviously did not like this decision, and the Portuguese expressed his displeasure to one of the tournament organisers. The forward was outraged that he did not receive the award despite scoring two goals.
