The match predictably started with Dynamo's attacks - Lucescu's men took the ball under their control quite quickly, forcing the visitors to retreat to their penalty area. Towards the middle of the first half, Dynamo established total dominance on the pitch, but the Bilo-Syni constantly lacked a finishing pass or an accurate shot.
In turn, the Aris players simply kicked the ball out or "loaded" it forward in the hope of their forward Moron. The Greeks didn't surprise Buschan with their long-range shots either - everything flew by. It seemed that Dynamo's team only needed to score the first goal in such a game and the opponent would "fall" - so straightforwardly the guests acted.
However, on the 39th minute of the game a mini-sensation took place: Aris played almost the first meaningful combination on Dynamo's half of the pitch and immediately managed to open the score in the match. After a pass to the left wing and a shot into the penalty area of the Bilo-Syni, Djurasek managed to shoot accurately from the goalkeeper's line - 0:1. But we should also praise our team, which, just a few minutes later, equalised the score! After a beautiful pass from Sidorchuk to the Greek penalty area, Voloshin escaped from the defender and hit a header exactly over the goalkeeper of "Aris" - 1:1!
After the break Dynamo players again took a good pace, but the Greeks continued to act very compactly in defence, knocking the ball forward. Paradoxically, however, it was the guests who could score the second goal a few minutes later: after a shot from the right flank, Karlsson failed to close the pass on the far post.
The less time remained until the end of the second half, the more often Aris players fell to the turf in a theatrical manner. Blatant simulations and time dragging - that's what the Greeks were most memorable for in this encounter. However, such a performance did not help them to keep the score: on 85 minutes Karavaev responded to a pass into the visitors' penalty area and shot into the far corner of the goal - 2:1! This was not enough for the Bilo-Syni and they rushed forward to score another goal, but Aris survived in regulation time. 2:2 on the sum of two matches - the meeting went into extra time.
The two extra-time periods were very emotional, both in terms of chances and rule violations. The Greeks failed to realise three good attacks, and in the 115th minute they managed to stay ten men down - Pavicic earned his second warning. But Dinamo failed to take advantage of the numerical advantage, moreover, Buschan frankly saved our team after Fabiano's header....
In the end - a series of penalty kicks! And here again Buschan was the hero! 6:5 in favour of Dynamo! Our team goes to the play-offs!
