UEFA names contenders for best player and coach of the season awards

UEFA has announced the shortlists for the men's football coach of the year and player of the year awards.

The three shortlisted candidates for the Coach of the Year award*:

• Josep Guardiola (Manchester City)
• Simone Inzaghi (Inter)
• Luciano Spalletti (Napoli).

A shortlist of three contenders for the Player of the Year award*:

• Kevin de Bruyne (Belgium - Manchester City)
• Lionel Messi (Argentina - Paris Saint-Germain, now Inter Miami)
• Erling Holand (Norway - Manchester City)

* in alphabetical order

The awards will be presented on 31 August in Monaco at the UEFA Champions League 2023/2024 group stage draw.
