However, they will face serious competition in the fight for Cancela from La Liga giants Barcelona. The Catalan team has already agreed on personal terms with the Portuguese, but has not yet signed a deal with City.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia are also interested in Cancelo's services, but it is possible that Arsenal will be able to convince Joao to stay in the Premier League.
