But Lyon showed resilience and got back on track in the 69th minute with a goal from A. Lacazette. "Lyon" hoped to get back, but its chances were severely undermined when in the 80th minute Lacazette received a red card and was left on the field with ten men. In the 83rd minute, N. Tagliafico received a yellow card. In the 89th minute Montpellier made two substitutions: T. Savanier replaced L. Leroy and J. Ferry came on in place of B. Omeragic. These changes immediately affected the result: in the 89th minute Adams scored a late goal, consolidating Montpellier's lead and sealing the victory. In the final minutes Montpellier made two more substitutions: Al-Tamari replaced S. Delaye and Ferry replaced J. Ferry. Although Lyon fought hard, it was Montpellier who emerged triumphant at the Groupama Stadium, leaving their fans celebrating a deserved victory. The match showcased the passion, skill and intensity that makes football such a favourite sport.
