Greenwood was suspended from Manchester United's training and matches after Mason was suspected of assaulting his girlfriend.
In February 2023, Greenwood was cleared of charges of rape and battery against his girlfriend, with whom he got back together and had a child this summer. And Manchester United launched its own investigation into Mason.
MU did a great job interviewing the club's staff and partners, but in the end, chief executive Richard Arnold decided that the 21-year-old Englishman would not join Eric Ten Hag's team.
It is worth noting that MJ does not specify how the parting of ways with Greenwood will take place. Mason, who has been in the club's system since the age of seven, has two more years left on his £75,000-a-week contract.
