Bologna vs Milan match review:
Milan defeated Bologna in a thrilling Serie A match at the legendary Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. The game ended 2-0 in favour of Bologna, with both goals scored in the first half. In the 11th minute, AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud struck the opponent's goal, giving the team their first lead. The Frenchman showcased his outstanding scoring ability, showing why he is considered one of the best strikers in the league. In the 21st minute, AC Milan doubled their lead. This time it was Christian Pulisic, who gave the Bologna goalkeeper no chance. In the first half, Bologna couldn't find their rhythm and made mistakes in defence, which allowed Milan to make the most of their opportunities. Despite a few good attempts, Bologna failed to realise any of their chances and went into the break with the score at 0-2. In the second half, Bologna took to the pitch more determined, showing great resilience and tenacity. In the 30th minute, midfield maestro Michel Ebischer received a yellow card for a flagrant foul, which further reduced Bologna's chances of success. In an attempt to boost their attacking efforts, Bologna made their first substitution in the 46th minute, replacing Riccardo Orsolini with Nicola Moro. In the 51st minute, left-back Theo Hernandez received a yellow card, adding to the list of disciplinary offences in the match.
In the 72nd minute, Bologna made a second substitution, replacing Nicolas Dominguez with Omar El Azzouzi. This substitution was aimed at strengthening the midfield, but did not bring any tangible results. Milan also made a number of substitutions in the 73rd minute: Olivier Giroud came on in place of Nathaniel Okafor, Ruben Loftus-Cheek replaced Tommaso Pobega and Davide Calabria was replaced by Pierre Kalula. In an attempt to maintain their two goal advantage, Milan made a fourth substitution in the 74th minute, replacing Pulisic with Samuel Chukwueze. However, neither team was able to increase the score in the final minutes of the match and the intensity of the game led to a flurry of yellow cards for both teams. Milan's Rade Krunic and Bologna's Joshua Zirksee received suspensions in the 76th and 77th minutes respectively. Bologna made two late substitutions in the 87th minute, with Stefano van Hooijdonk coming on in place of Zirksee and Lucas Ferguson coming on in place of Karol Urbanski. Milan, meanwhile, replaced Chukwueze with Madi Thiawah in the 88th minute, strengthening the defence. Despite Bologna's late onslaught, Milan's defence remained unwavering, securing a clean sheet and a deserved 2-0 win. This result will surely boost Milan's confidence in Serie A as they are determined to fight for the league title. On the other hand, Bologna need to regroup and eliminate their defensive errors in order to get back to winning ways in the next matches.
