FIFA has suspended the licence of Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales after he refused to resign over a scandalous kiss with national team star Jenny Hermoso.

The commission said today it was suspending Rubiales' rights to "any football activity at local and international level", with an initial sentence of 90 days. Meanwhile, the investigation into the Spanish federation president will continue.
At yesterday's federation meeting, Rubiales flatly refused to resign, claiming that Hermoso had consented to the kiss. Hermoso later denied this and said she felt she was a "victim of abuse", and nearly 80 Spanish players said they would no longer play for the national team until Rubiales resigned. Rubiales responded by saying he would sue Hermoso for lying.
