After beating Dynamo Kyiv (3:2) in the first match of the play-off round of the Conference League qualification, which took place last Thursday in Bucharest, Turkish Besiktas extended their impressive winless streak to 22 matches (18 wins, 4 draws).
The last time Şenol Güneş's team lost was back in February this year, when they lost to Sivasspor (0:1) in another round of the Turkish league. Since then, Besiktas has not known defeat both in the domestic arena and in international meetings.
The current winless series of "Besiktas" is a repeat of the club's record: in 2017-2018, the Istanbul team for the first time managed not to lose in 22 consecutive matches. Interestingly, then the "black eagles" were also coached by Şenol Güneş.
Recall, the return match between Besiktas and Dynamo will be held next Thursday, 31 August, in Istanbul. The winner on the sum of two meetings will advance to the group stage of the Conference League.
