After the return play-off matches of the Champions League qualification round last Tuesday and Wednesday, not only all 32 participants of the group stage of the tournament have been determined, but also the composition of the baskets for the draw of this stage.
The first basket includes the winners of last season's Champions League and Europa League (English Manchester City and Spanish Sevilla respectively), as well as the champions of the countries with the highest UEFA coefficient (with the exception of Russia, which, it should be recalled, was expelled from the European Cup as an aggressor country at the start of the European Cup season).
The other three baskets are formed in a typical manner - according to the club coefficients of the participating teams.
The only representative of Ukraine in the Champions League main draw for the season 2023/24 - Shakhtar Donetsk - this time ended up in the third basket.
