Former Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Svyatoslav Sirota has spoken out about the recent pre-match warm-up in the KHL, when CSKA Moscow hockey players came out to the KHL in uniforms with the letter Z and the emblem of the Espanyol battalion fighting in Ukraine.
"The world has changed, and sport can no longer be neutral.
Our athletes are ambassadors of Ukraine around the world, and sport is a part of our lives. Today we don't have to tell the world what is happening in Ukraine - the whole world already knows. But we must not allow the world to relax, forget, or slow down its support. We must not allow hostile evil to take root among our friends and destroy support for Ukraine from within.
That is why sport has long been a part of politics. We must support our athletes and defend our country in all international competitions. Let our victories be Ukraine's victories, and let our athletes be worthy representatives of our country.
Together we can overcome any challenges and problems.
Russian cunts," Sirota wrote on his Facebook page.
