Ajax Amsterdam refused to buy Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan. This is reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"It's not about his playing qualities, but the fact that he plays in Russia. For Ajax, he could be like De Bruyne at Manchester City. A special player, you won't find someone similar for that kind of money," Romano quoted Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat as saying.
The decision not to sign Spertsyan was made by the club's supervisory board, which considers transfers from Russia during the war in Ukraine an immoral act.
