Former Dynamo Kyiv captain Serhiy Sydorchuk, who today signed a three-year contract with Belgian championship club Westerlo, thanked the Ukrainian club for eleven years of his career.
"Kyiv is us. Kyiv is a part of my life. And now I have to talk about it in the past tense.
In 2012, I came to the legendary Dynamo. The dream of a simple boy from Zaporizhzhia came true. In 2013, I made my debut for the White and Blues. My Dynamo story began. In 2015, I made my debut in the Champions League. Unforgettable emotions, and we won then. It was just a fairy tale. In 2017, I became the team captain. A status that became a great responsibility.
There were trophies, victories, defeats. There were all sorts of things. It seems we went through everything together. We went through everything with dignity. I was honoured to work with the best coaches and play with talented players. I am very proud of this.
During all my years at the club, I did not consider it normal to relax or take for granted my stay at the best club in the country. I constantly wanted to prove that I have the right to be here, to be part of the legend, to be in the white and blue family. And I did everything possible and impossible for this and consciously devoted 11 years of my life to the team I love.
This stage in my life is very valuable to me, and I'm moving on with this experience. And I thank everyone for it. Coaches, teammates, every employee of the club. You are the best! You are in my heart forever! Thank you," Serhii wrote and added a video.
