Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who is known for his transfer insights, praised Liverpool's work during the summer off-season.

"I would say that Alexis McAllister's transfer to Liverpool was one of the most profitable signings of the summer. It's not easy to replace players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. To buy McAllister for just €40 million is something incredible. I think Alexis is worth more than 70-75 million, but they got him for a lot less than that because of the verbal clause in his contract with Brighton," Romano said on the weekly podcast the Debrief.
